Oregon, Father's Day and Temple Trip!

Ok so I have known I'm not a serious blogger. But I wish I was. It's been like 3 weeks and so much has happened. The biggest thing is that I went to OREGON!! It was so fantastic. I got to go to the elementary school Sock Hop. We all dressed up - it was so cute! We had Bentley and Mia's(my cousin) baptism. They were precious. I played the piano and Tiff was the chorister and their grandma's gave great talks. That night Tiffany graduated from Seminary! And the next week was filled with haircuts (thanks Gena!), volleyball games (go Lexus!), baseball games (go Bentley), choir concerts (go Lincoln) and of course, Tiffany's graduation. Luckily it didn't rain on us though the clouds were very ominous. However, that night the clouds broke and we were lucky. The graduates were in orange for the boys and white for the girls. Tiffany walked with Garrett and was so beautiful. And the coolest thing of all is Tiff's choir Framework sang and she sang a SOLO!!! And didn't even tell us until it happened! Man I'm glad I got it on tape (however, part of the reason I'm not a serious blogger is I don't know how to put the videos from the hard drive in the video recorder to a SD card...). The week was filled with wonderful games, family, meals, and fun. I'm so sad Derek couldn't come but he held the fort here at home.

Since I've been home it's been nice to be able to support Derek again. He is working so hard managing all of these boys out here and it helps when I can do things in the afternoon and have a meal ready for him when he comes home. Our first Father's Day together was nice. Derek and I go to a family ward so that means lots of cookies for all the men :) Also, that night we made round steak and buttered noodles - Mom's famous recipe. And I gave Derek a funny card and the new Sharpie pens. It was a relaxing Sunday.

This weekend we drove all the way to Houston to visit the temple. I was so grateful we were able to make that 3 hour (but leave it to us directionally challenged it was more like 5 hours) drive to Houston. I'm grateful we found a temple that is open later on Saturday and that we have the money to pay for a gas trip out there. We were definately rejuvinated and refreshed. I love going to the temple so much and this one was beautiful!

This upcoming weekend (have you noticed we live for those) is our 6 month anniversary and we're going to dinner and out to a lake to go swim! (I think :) Time has flown and I am so grateful I am married to such an intelligent, hard working and thoughtful man as my husband!

Sounds like a great time! It's good to have vacations every once in awhile. I'm glad you are having fun for selling satellite. I can't wait to see you again!
