Christmas #1

Derek and I are spending December 20th to the 24th with his family in Burley. On Sunday all of the kids were there and we had a big dinner and gift exchanges. Boy were we spoiled. It was fun to sit around the tree and give each other gifts. Also, we went to the Burley Stake Christmas program. The music was beautiful and centered on Christ. A wonderful way to remember the meaning of the season.

Our nutso pile of gifts!

Opening my stocking!

Grandma Moss! What a great example of hard work and love. Thanks for all the great meals!!

We gave toe socks to Steve as a joke :)

Making sweet music!

I tried out last week for the Pocatello, Institute Choir. I found out I made it this morning! I am sooo excited! I haven't been in an auditioned choir since senior year of high school. The choir is great and we practice for 1 1/2 hours a week. I am so excited to sing harmonies with wonderful students and sing our testimonies!!

snowdrops keep falling on my head

Ok so I am pretty grateful it is not snowing yet.
However, at work today I was cutting out some beautiful paper snowflakes.
It turns out - THEY ARE REAL pictures of snowflakes!
Aren't they gorgeous!?!
This makes me look forward to those white individual flakes!

I found the website my supervisor got the snowflakes from
and I wanted to show you all. Enjoy!!

just a little sneak peak

our thanksgiving extravaganza!

Derek and I went to Burley for the weekend and one of the things the boys did was built Steve's shed in the backyard. It looks great. They got the roof on and pressed wood on the walls. Here's a few pictures from Kara. I will put my other turkey day pictures up soon (what can I say, finals are coming up, we get a little busy :)

This is my good friend Sharlie Orrock (who is in Croatia at the moment :) and I hope she sees this post someday. Aly, Sharlie, and I went on a road trip to the coast our senior year and had a really fun time. This is Sharlie contemplating life with the grape/toothpick art we made. I remember we got there at night time and didn't realize the place we were staying at was so close to the ocean until the morning. We opened the blinds and were so surprised to see the waves SO close. Man I miss the beach...and my girls. Fun memories!

I was tagged by Kayti, and I tag Laura Peterson, Katie Willis, Mom, and Charlotte :)

A time for thanks

It's almost Thanksgiving! Which means I get to whip out my cute Thanksgiving decorations that I got for my wedding over 10 months ago. Well they are worth it because they are so stinkin' cute!!!

Murder Mystery Party!

Derek and I went to a murder mystery party hosted by our friends Collin and Vanessa. They were great hosts and had a wonderful meal and decorations all set up. They were 8 married couples there and we were given clues throughout the night about our characters. At dinner someone was murdered - it turned out to be me! I was instructed to go to the restroom and I would find white face paint under the sink. I was not allowed to talk for the rest of the night because I was a ghost! Even without speaking it was really fun! My character was London Wilton, a heiress who wanted to put up a hotel (like the Hiltons) in the town and pretty much everybody there hated me - which was why I was murdered. And Derek was Mister Crimson, a local celebrity...and kind of a gangster :) Thanks again Collin and Vanessa!

Pumpkin carving

Although this is late a large reason we have this blog is to update family and friends. SO, I am putting up what we did for the week of Halloween! Our friends Megan and Kyle just got engaged and we had them over for pumpkin carving. They did the skull and we did the cat/pumpkin/spider in the window. Megan and I met in Chemistry this semester and have become really close. We are excited for her and Kyle to be married on January 3rd!! And join the ranks of the wonderful married life!!

Nov. 4th

I VOTED!!!

And I have to admit I love the presinct concept. Short lines and you get a cute sticker. Also, once you have finished voting they ask your name and say "Shelby Moss has voted!" Yehaw!!
(P.S. Thanks to Erica for the cute new sweater...and many other cute new items of clothing! Thank you!!)

Bowling Date Night

IHSL

Although this isn't super exciting I thought I'd put a few pictures of where I work. I work at the Idaho Health Sciences Library at that front desk. It is on the 3rd floor of the ISU library. We mainly help patrons find articles and we also help distant students get the resources they need. It's really flexible and we can do homework sometimes. I love helping people find exactly what they need for a project or paper - then they love you :)

This is our Relief Society Presidency. Me (2nd Councilor), Tonya Rasmussen (Secretary), Leisha Smith (President), and Erica Baron (1st Councilor). I love these girls!!

ISU Homecoming Bonfire

Derek and I went to the Homecoming bonfire at Bartz field. It was a very very large fire once it got going. We watched from our car for a while, but then got closer.

Here is a close up of us next to the fire - you can see it's super hot!
These poor cones melted!!!
